Event: August Online Conference
Topic: We’d all like to be humble, but what if nobody notices?
Speaker: Shelley Leith
In this talk we return to the foundation of humility that we all need in order to build true Christlike character. Using a scale and different types of mirrors, we explore how our self-esteem is interwoven with pride, false humility and real humility. Then, we delve further into scripture to discover how something I call the “Theology of Mirrors” is the key to living truly, having our eyes focused rightly, and having a strong self-esteem. Humility is a character quality that we can’t develop by working hard at it, since the more you work on being humble the more prideful you get. So we’ll unlock the mystery and figure out how to develop this elusive quality, and we’ll even choose an action step to help us gain the quality that Jesus ranks the most important of all.
